Seeing Stars in Dixie at Chaffin's Dinner Theatre

Celluloid and Southern

Celluloid and Southern
Southern charm and Hollywood history converge in Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre's major summer production. Ron Osborne's script revolves around the 1956 filming of Raintree County, a rather notorious Civil War romance that featured Elizabeth Taylor, Montgomery Clift and other big-name actors. With Tinseltown descending on Natchez, Miss., the star-struck proprietor of a local tearoom vies with the town's other colorful characters for a small role in the movie. Ultimately, goodness triumphs over the petty competitive urges. Dietz Osborne directs a cast that features previous Barn performers Melodie Madden Adams, Pamela Faye and Johnny Peppers, plus newcomers Tammie Whited and Betty Davis.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: June 11. Continues through July 18, 2009
