It was almost a year ago when comedian Rory Scovel came through town to headline one of the first Corporate Juggernaut shows at The High Watt. As legend has it, Scovel saw Jack White at a bar just after his show, and gave him “the old Nashville handshake,” handing White a copy of his debut CD and disappearing into the wind. Apparently the trick worked, because Scovel is returning to Nashville to record a brand-new record at Third Man Records. No big deal, man. Scovel’s hilarious stream-of-conscious comedy will be recorded to vinyl, making him the first stand-up — musical comedian Reggie Watts aside — to both headline and record a set at the Blue Room.
