Roger Day at The Belcourt

Tot Pop
He likes yaks, his pal Zach hates bumblebees, and he regales his young audiences with the revolutionary message to "Turn Off the TV." Didn't anyone tell Roger Day that songs for kids are supposed to be audio Ritalin? With his third full-length children's LP Dream Big! recently given a Parents' Choice Gold Award, the Franklin singer-songwriter is becoming a favorite on the same kids-music circuit that has embraced Dan Zanes, Farmer Jason Ringenberg and They Might Be Giants. Day's songs are tot-friendly pop with splashes of Paul Simon and Buddy Holly; if kids had their own coffeehouses, this would be bigger than Feist.
