Rock With a Cause

Multiple sclerosis is an often-debilitating autoimmune disease that affects hundreds of thousands of Americans. Unfortunately, local engineer Steve Martin—not to be confused with Steve Martin The Jerk, though some might say this Martin is, too, a wild and crazy guy—was recently diagnosed with MS. In an effort to help Martin cover his mounting medical bills, the Mercy Lounge is staging the Rock N Remedy, half of the proceeds of which (at Martin’s request) will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Considering its diverse bill and unarguably noble cause, the $10 cost of admission is but a paltry sum. The Glib will be there to belt out their psych-infused, Pixies-channeling brand of power-indie, and Tallest Trees contributor Dabney Morris (a.k.a. Human Voice) will also be on hand to deliver his lavish, string-drenched pop-rock arrangements. Other acts on the bill include Tommy and the Whale, Molly Fitzpatrick, Moriah Harris, Julie Lee, Megan McCormick and Chris Milam.
