If you’ve been to 3rd and Lindsley much in the last few years, you’re likely familiar with Brandi Chaney, whose smiling face and warm demeanor have brightened many an evening at the club. Brandi worked there for five years until being diagnosed with ovarian cancer about a year ago. She made a lot of great (and talented) friends in those five years, as evidenced by the jaw-dropping lineup gathering to help pay her medical bills, not to mention lift her spirit: Lee Ann Womack, Bekka Bramlett, Reese Wynans, Josh Hoge, The Wooten Brothers, Marc-Alan Barnette, Shelly Fairchild, Johnny Neel and Kentucky Thunder. And not only is this a star-studded evening and a great cause, it’s a guitar geek’s wet dream: There’ll be a 10-man guitar pull featuring the cream of Nashville’s (and by extension, the world’s) six-string crop: Jack Pearson, Kenny Greenberg, Lee Roy Parnell, Tom Hemby, Brent Mason, Tom Britt, Steve C., Bob Britt, Gary Nicholson and Rob McNelley. (It wouldn’t be a stretch to suggest that together, they’ve likely played on a large majority of the major-label records to come out of Nashville in the last 10 years.) And there’s a special Cajun menu for the evening, as well as the drink of the evening, the Hurricane Brandi. (If you can’t make the gig, donations can be sent to Brandi Chaney, P.O. Box 204, Hermitage TN, 37076.
