Rickey Smiley at the Ryman

Smiley Smile

Smiley Smile
Following in the tradition of such transcendent performers such as Prince Rogers Nelson and Al Green (and every third classic soul and R&B artist of the late 20th century), comedian and radio personality Rickey Smiley mixes the sacred and the profane with rare aplomb. Don't believe us? Get thee to YouTube, where you can hear him profanely prank-call equally profane prank-callees, but also see the man set a church (!) rolling in its pews with a series of prescient bits about all things worship-worthy. Fittingly, Smiley will be playing the Mother Church of Country Music, Ryman Auditorium. Tickets are $47, available at www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 889-3060.
