The city’s only weekly drum-n-bass night—really one of the city’s only weekly parties for underground dance music—is back to being, well, weekly after that whole giving of thanks thing. Now, we have to admit that we’re a little slow on the uptake and just discovered the Signal of Design EP by Respresent residents The Legion. Actually, we didn’t discover it; a good friend from the East Coast asked us if we had heard it and then scolded us for sleeping on it. That sound you hear is us slapping ourselves in the collective head. Equal parts buzzsaw rumble, ethereal atmospheres and fist-pumping boogie-down breaks, The Legion makes us wonder what the bastard spawn of a T-1000 and a Solid Gold dancer would listen to on the treadmill. We’re gonna guess it sounds a lot like “Devil With Aces.”
