Ree Drummond’s life sounds like a modern day fairytale with Wild West flair: Big-city girl falls in love with a blue-eyed cowboy, marries and moves to a ranch in the “middle of nowhere” where she becomes…an award winning blogger and best-selling writer? Yep. Milking cows, herding cattle, cooking for a passel of precocious cowgirls and boys and keeping her “Marlboro Man” tall in the saddle certainly agrees with the enviously fresh-faced, red-haired Drummond, whose debut, The Pioneer Woman Cooks, is a testament to wide open spaces and good country living. Part flowery diary, part homespun scrapbook complete with Drummond’s own beautiful photographs, her cookbook corrals enough comforting recipes—everything from Cowboy Calazone to Crème Brulee—to leave you wishing for an extra bed in the family’s bunkhouse. Line tickets are required for the book-signing portion of this event.
