How are you liking that new 60 cents-per-pack tax on cigarettes? Sure, you can avoid the tax by driving to Kentucky to buy two cartons of smokes every so often, but why not save your gas money and put a wad of dip behind your lip.
“How are you liking that new 60 cents-per-pack tax on cigarettes? Sure, you can avoid the tax by driving to Kentucky to buy two cartons of smokes every so often, but why not save your gas money and put a wad of dip behind your lip. We at U.S. Smokeless make Skoal and Copenhagen right here in Nashville. And while most other states levy a much higher tax on moist tobacco products, you’ll pay only 6.6 percent of the wholesale price here in Tennessee. Savings that are good for both of us. Not that we’re hurting for cash. Every year we sell more than 640 million cans of snuff worldwide, generating more than $2 billion of revenue. So enjoy a refreshing dip while the state legislature conducts ‘further study’ on a smokeless tobacco tax. If we have anything to say about it, they’ll take their time figuring it out.”
