Protomen w/Parachute Musical at Exit/In

High Life
Remember when Neil Young said he wasn't “singin' for Pepsi / ain't singin' for Coke” ('cause it made him "look like a joke")? Remember when The Black Crowes got booted as a support act for ZZ Top because they continually insulted the tour's monolithic beer-company sponsor? Well, neither do these guys. Miller's pitch ("Like beer? Like free music?”) is a deceptively simple one (why, yes and yes!), but it's not like they're trying to hide anything. What's more, the company has learned that instead of lining Chris Robinson's pockets with more tree-rolling money, they can use a fraction of that loot to bankroll some much-needed publicity for local and regional bands. Tonight's beer-bestanked, recession-friendly gig features performances by Parachute Musical, Majestico, Tallest Trees and Nashville's own rock opera-writing, Mega Man-loving, costume- and motorcycle helmet-wearing, code name-having, Daft Punk-cribbing, gamer fanboy-friendly favorites The Protomen. Hey, you do what you can to pull the kids away from Call of Duty. Admission is free.
