Poolapalooza at Opryland

I Pity the Pool

I Pity the Pool
As if most of us aren’t already taking a beating from the Great Recession, the summer sun is also pummeling everything in its path into submission with UV rays, greenhouse gases and blood-boiling temperatures. If you’re looking to beat the heat, dig on some live music and cool off cheap in a large, sanitary body of water, Gaylord Entertainment has come to your rescue. Poolapalooza is a free, family-friendly, weekly concert series held poolside at the Opryland Hotel. This week, they’ve invited hometown heavyweights AutoVaughn to provide the entertainment. Recently a finalist in a national contest held by Fender Guitars, AutoVaughn has remained a blip on the national radar, playing angular, industrialized, radio-ready pop with a new-wave finish. Again, admission is free and so is a limited amount of parking, so get there early. Oh, and bring a towel.
