Please be advised that I have altered my predictions for this Thursday’s Metro Council runoff races.
I am still predicting that Leo Waters and Chris Ferrell will win in their at-large races against former Sheriff Hank Hillin and school board chairman Ed Kindall. I am going out on a limb and predicting Waters first, followed by Ferrell, Hillin and Kindall last.
In District 1, it is still Regina Cobb over Cornelius Ridley. In District 4, I am reversing course and saying Don Majors will defeat Jimmy Summers. Eileen Beehan still rules in District 6, as Jimmy Holt does in District 8.
In District 13, I first predicted a Charles French victory over Tony Derryberry. Now I’m saying, TOO CLOSE TO CALL.
In District 14, I am reversing course and saying Sam Underwood will defeat James Bruce Stanley.
In District 20, I am sticking with Morris Haddox over Melvin Gill, and with John Kincaid in District 29 over Saletta Hollowayalthough I hope I am wrong.
One interesting fact has emerged from the talks between Nashville and the Oilers: If Nashville loses, it will be Nashville’s own fault.
The Oilers have clearly stated what they want. Now it is up to us to give it to them.
And if we don’t?
Oilers representatives have said they will move the team to Baltimore, where, since the Colts are no longer around, city officials are prepared to deal.
He who hesitates has to stay home and watch Bob Costas.
This is exactly why we have juries.
