Why does it seem like forever ago since the last installment of everyone’s favorite East Side dive-bar poetry night? It almost seems like it’s been as long as it takes to say Poetry Sucks! An Evening of Poetry, Music and All Sorts of Bad Language in a sentence without forgetting the right order and having to start over again. But fear not, fans of the per-verse — it’s back after a hiatus, and the lineup is superb as usual. And it doesn’t matter if you know terza rima from flatted fifths, it’s a good time for people who like words and hanging out. And beer. The man, the myth — the guy whose idea this was in the first place — Chet Weise reads from his work, along with fellow poets Zachary Schomburg and Janaka Stucky. Musical interlude provided by PUJOL, with admission and good vibes free of charge. Programming note: This used to be on Thursday, but this time it’s not.
