Produced by New York City’s Vital Theatre Company — founded in 1999 and a leader in developing original programming for young audiences — this celebration of the color pink is a rarity: It’s apparently so good that Nashville Children’s Theatre is comfortable booking the touring show at its own performing space. The story: Pinkalicious can’t stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her indulgence lands her at the doctor’s office with “Pinkititis,” which turns her pink from head to toe. Based on the popular children’s book by sisters Elizabeth and Victoria Kann (who also wrote the play’s book and lyrics), the one-hour musical features a score and orchestrations by John Gregor. The cast includes Amber Dickerson, Melanie Dusel, Gabi Van Horn, Todd Zehrer and Brian Maxsween. The show is officially recommended for children ages 2 to 10.
