Otaku South Extra Large 2

When: Sat., Feb. 15, 5 p.m. 2014
Sarah Gavigan, whose Otaku South pop-up events treat Nashvillians to creative, high-quality ramen, is launching a sequel to last year’s Extra Large extravaganza, which brought together out-of-town ramen masters for a big noodle party at Marathon Music Works. Extra Large 2 features more high-profile chefs: the venerable Shigetoshi Nakamura of Ramen Lab and Sun Noodle in New York; Edward Lee of 610 Magnolia and Milkwood in Louisville, Ky.; Yuji Haraguchi of Yuji Ramen in New York; Mihoko Obuni of Mibo Love Ramen in Atlanta; and Nashville’s own Jessica Benefield and Jason McConnell of Two Ten Jack. The ramen bowls will be flying from 5 to 9 p.m., with popular ’80s cover specialists Guilty Pleasures bringing tunes to the party 8 to 10 p.m. And it’s all for a very good cause: Proceeds benefit the Pablove Foundation and the fight against childhood cancer.
