The meticulous craftsmanship and eerie realism of the Magdeburg Puppentheaters tiny wooden players is on display all weekend in the Childrens Theater of Nashvilles Public Library. The puppet troupe, visiting from Nashvilles sister city of Magdeburg, Germany, are presenting Oscar and the Lady in Pink, the tale of a 10-year-old boy restricted to a hospital bed who develops a heartrending bond with an attendant. While children under 9 wont be permitted to attend the presentationthe theme of mortality might prove to be a bit heavy for the teeniest of youngstersthe Library promises that this is a moving story fit for nearly the entire family, complete with hilarious characters and a wonderfully poignant story. Admission to Oscar and the Lady in Pink is, of course, free, so get down to the Library and get yourself some culture.
