Opry Country Classics hosted by Larry Gatlin feat. Loretta Lynn, Rhonda Vincent, Daryle Singletary & more

When: Thu., May 1, 7 p.m. 2014
Price: $29.50-$58.50
Oh — you’ve got something more important to do tonight besides hear the woman who sang (and perhaps more importantly, wrote) “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Don’t Come Home A’Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind),” “You Ain’t Woman Enough” and other bedrock classics of the country music catalog … on the stage of the Mother Church, no less? Buddy, it better involve a flaming orphanage, puppies in peril or a five-buck fire sale on Pappy Van Winkle. This cool Ryman series departs from the Opry format with a guest host — Larry Gatlin — who digs into his own stockpile of hits before bringing out guests to discuss their careers and to sing a few numbers. Also appearing tonight is the stellar country-bluegrass vocalist Rhonda Vincent — that’s at least one legend and a legend-in-the-making for one $29.50-$58.50 ticket. JIM RIDLEY
