Plate Tone Printshop is a community printmaking studio that provides an opportunity for artists to have access to equipment, as well as a means to network with other artists specializing in various aspects of the medium. This biannual show features members Marleen De Bock, Kaaren Hirshowitz Engel, Lee Ann Hawkins, Patricia Jordan, Reesha Leone and Jaime Raybin. Like cooking, printmaking is all about the process; each new technique (ingredient) used brings depth to the finished artwork. Member Patricia Jordan uses more than one technique in her monoprints, such as etching, photo intaglio and a special method where she actually floats oil paint in water. Other members also work with linoleum blocks, monotypes and photocopy transfers. This is a great chance for people considering a membership to meet the artists involved and see the space and equipment available.
