Cumberland Gallery finished up 2012 with a strong group exhibition of unique artists, and they christen 2013 with another show of multiple personalities — this time with a decidedly 3-D twist. With artists like Tom Pfannerstill and Carrie McGee on its roster, Cumberland boasts a deep bench when it comes to sculpture. And while this show won’t include work from those local favorites, it will put a wide variety of styles and materials on display in a show that aims to push the boundaries of what sculpture can be thought to be. On and Off the Wall includes work by Kit Reuther, Jim Gibson, Ann Wells, Ahren Ahrenholz, Gerda Gruber, David French, Johan Hagaman, Terry Williams, Lynda Benglis, Michael Greenspan, Ulla Viotti, Fletcher Benton and newcomer Jason Lascu. Lascu’s pieces will be familiar to art crawlers who’ve seen his figurative work at Tinney Contemporary.
