Oblio CD Release at The Basement

Local Rock Update
Oblio: Pop-rock trio last seen at the helm of a Harry Nilsson tribute night at Mercy Lounge, reproducing the legendary Swede’s finest numbers with the effortlessness of true fans. Now, they’re releasing an album by the name of Tonight You’re Gonna Be a Revelation, an 11-song collection of earnest, atmospheric rock numbers with loads of urgency and more than a touch of U2 influence. And live, they’re about as loud and bombastic as a three-piece can be. Ghostfinger: Primary outlet of formerly epically-mustachioed guitar mastermind Richie Kirkpatrick, who, in recent months, has toured as the guitarist for fresh-faced songstress Jessica Lea Mayfield. Ghostfinger are now doing some touring of their own, likely playing loads of material from last year’s The Feeler. It was a solid record, but we’re definitely hoping they bust out the celebrated party jam “Love My Head” from 2005’s These Colors Run. “Go! Fight! WIN!”
