It wasnt too long ago that Tennessee Repertory Theatre very successfully mounted Michael Frayns outrageous farce about theater folks in extremis. While it was beloved in its zaniness and was a wonderful showcase for comic players, Noises Off is also a precision piece of the highest order, as we watch a cast of dysfunctional British thespians attempt to perform a dour comedy from both sides of the footlights. This new Circle Players production is under the direction of Patrick Kramer, who brings to the task his own well-honed comic sensibilities as actor and improviser, plus prior success directing at Boiler Room Theatre. His cast features another BRT regular, Alan Lee, along with Maggie Pitt, Brittany Byrd, Joe Brennan, Jeremy Maxwell, Carol Griffin, Joe Shepherd, Kellye Mitchell and Aaron Echols.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 16. Continues through Nov. 1, 2009
