New Year’s Eve has a reputation for being little more than an excuse to get hammered and make bogus half-hearted resolutions. But while the adults are out living it up, the kids are left with New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, the one night a year when ABC wheels out Dick Clark to count backwards from 10 and feign chemistry with Ryan Seacrest. Surely there’s a better option for the under-21 set. Little Hamilton knows your pain all too well. The South Nashville music venue/community space/warehouse is celebrating the New Year with a bill combining Nashville’s most ubiquitous—post-punkers Gnarwhal and MARJ are both accounted for—with a handful of touring bands, chief among them being a Melt-Banana-wannabe punk act from St. Louis called Spelling Bee. Young punks aren’t going to find a better alternative to vegging out with a plate full of pizza rolls than this.
