Lars Strandh's large, bold, monochromatic paintings are poetic studies in texture and are among the best paintings Nashville art-abouts will see this year. New Works on Linen is the kind of show that makes us jealous of art lovers who'll be discovering Strandh's work for the first time, as they're about to have what may be their best week of the fall art season. Fresh off the knockout success of their recent Lain York/Richard Feaster show, Zeitgeist is following up with Strandh's exquisite work as well as Open Studio, a Who's Who exhibit of works on paper by gallery favorites including Patrick DeGuira, Brady Haston, Hans Schmitt-Matzen and Manuel Zeitlin. Open Studio will feature silkscreen, polyester prints, photolithographs and intaglio. Zeitgeist is also rolling out a new kind of plan for presenting these shows, displaying part of each exhibit in their Hillsboro Village gallery as well as at the Terrazzo building in the Gulch.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 5. Continues through Dec. 12, 2009
