The most famous and widely traveled of the modern New Orleans brass bands, the Dirty Dozen are back bringing the party after a serious turn with their most recent album, 2006s Whats Goin On, a protest album following the harsh blow of Hurricane Katrina. Touring with six horns, guitar and drums, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band remains steeped in Crescent City second-line marches and Dixieland rags, but theyve long expanded on that legacy with strong shots of R&B and jazz blended into their gumbo. At this point, theyre an American institution that, praise God and Louis Armstrong, will get you on the good foot.
