BEFORE I FORGET: Jacques Nolot's harrowing feature about an aging roué (played by the writer-director) contending with HIV and the slow fade of worldly pleasures may be the best-reviewed movie of 2008 that never made it to local theaters. It arrives in video stores this week along with two films that played only briefly in local theaters: the John C. Reilly-Sean William Scott comedy THE PROMOTION, and native Memphis filmmaker Ira Sachs' archly stylized '50s melodrama MARRIED LIFE, starring Chris Cooper, Patricia Clarkson and Pierce Brosnan. Best titles this week: Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned and Itty Bitty Titty Committee.
