Nashville Ballet's Emergence: The Studio Series

Dance Fever

Dance Fever
Nashville Ballet’s Emergence series has always been the company’s progressive performance program, where original compositions meet original choreography for the first time and up-and-coming artists find opportunities to showcase their talent. This year’s program innovates further, as audience members select a “dance list” of performances for viewing, choosing from three separate studios throughout the initial 90 minutes of the evening’s events. Company members Kelsey Bartman, Robert Poe, Christopher Stuart and Andrea Vierra contribute shorter pieces to this opening segment. Later, all attendees come together to witness a grand finale, which features a collection of ballets from notable choreographers Salvatore Aiello, James Canfield, Nashville Ballet artistic director Paul Vasterling and New York City Ballet fellowship recipient Kimberly Ratcliffe. Live music will be provided by local musicians Benita Hill and Cody Sluder, and Vasterling’s preview of Macbeth showcases new music by Michael Kurek. Original artwork will also be on display. Tickets are limited, and a sellout is anticipated.
