Nashville Amp Expo in Brentwood

It Goes to 11

It Goes to 11
I may put up a brave front, but the taunts of “pedal slut” and “gear queer” take a toll. Not to mention the disdain in my friends’ eyes as they say, “Dude, you do a gig, like, once every two months but you have 12 guitars, 14 amps and 112 pedals. What’s the deal?” Well if this sounds familiar to you, the Nashville Amp Expo is calling your name (like the crack pipe called Richard Pryor’s). Featuring an array of guitars, effects, accessories and, yes, amps, the Expo offers a unique opportunity—the chance to crank this shit up to stadium volumes without some jaded Guitar Center employee giving you the evil eye. How do they do it? They rent out the entire Brentwood Hyatt Place hotel, so there’s no one left to complain. Simple...devious...brilliant! Exhibitors include Marshall, Vox, Goodsell, Reason Amps, Delgado Guitars, Reinhardt Amplification, Sommatone, Stage Craft Gear, Pro Stage Gear/Pedaltrain and dozens more. Sure, a 12-step program might be more appropriate. In fact, steering you to the Amp Expo is like sending a sex addict to the Hustler store. But it feels sooo goood. Info at nashvilleampexpo.com.
