NAMM Music Industry Day

When: Sat., July 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 2014
The National Association of Music Merchants’ annual summer convention in Nashville is a members-only affair — except on Saturday, when the music gear extravaganza is open to the public for NAMM Music Industry Day. For $10 in advance, $20 at the door, you get access to the entire sonic smorgasbord, featuring hundreds of booths displaying products from more than 1,500 brands. You’ll get a chance to geek out on all the latest software, recording equipment, P.A. equipment, and of course, guitars, basses, drums, keyboards, horns and effects out the wazoo. There will also be a number of workshops on subjects including songwriting, marketing your music, building the ultimate pedal board (sign me up!), and getting an endorsement deal. Plus a fastest drummer competition, the SheRocks women songwriters showcase, and performances by Jonathan Jackson, Greg Bates, The Ukedelics and more. Info at JACK SILVERMAN
