While fall can be an ideal time for a gallery to highlight a special artist with a solo show just as the temperatures drop and folks are interested in gallery-mingling again, it seems Gallery One’s Shelley McBurney couldn’t settle on just one favorite. Bucking the trend, the space’s owner and curator has opted for a group show of handpicked works featuring new offerings from a number of the gallery’s best artists. “This is my opportunity to share some very special pieces and a broad sampling of the exemplary art and artists represented at Gallery One,” says McBurney. “I’m very much looking forward to showcasing a great variety of new work by some of the gallery’s most popular artists.” My Favorite Things: Curator’s Picks features work by Gallery One favorites including Sylvia Hyman, Lori-Greene, Maggie Hasbrouck, Patrick Adams and John and Robin Gumaelius. The show includes painting, drawing and sculpture, and may offer great opportunities for early holiday shoppers. No pressure.
