The first MC to win the overwhelmingly rock-band-dominated Road to Bonnaroo competition, Chancellor Warhol is part of a new wave of Nashville hip-hop that's bringing the noise in Music City.

Maybe camping with 80,000 of your closest friends — a great many of whom may or may not be on some sort of vision quest — in the heat of June, in the middle of a muddy field — at least we hope that's mud — isn't your favorite way to see some bands. Maybe you just want to catch some live music in the comfort of your own hometown, with a clean shower and a climate-controlled sleeping arrangement in your foreseeable future.
Musicians Corner offers just that combination of accoutrements, serving up a lively mix of music, food, activities and crafts — providing refreshing green space and free good vibes for the weekend crowds, while partnering with local nonprofits to help raise awareness and encourage volunteerism. Musicians Corner takes over Centennial Park's southwestern edge (near Springwater) from 3-6 p.m. every Saturday until July 2, then restarts in the fall, running from Sept. 3 to Nov. 5.
The 12South Concert Series, meanwhile, provides a musical backdrop in Sevier Park, a great locale for enjoying a delectable treat from Las Paletas or other 12South favorites like LB's Market or Burger Up. The Jefferson Street Jazz and Blues Festival heats up North Nashville in June, while smaller-scale outdoor musical gatherings can be found at denim boutique Imogene + Willie's backyard gatherings — which played host to Bonnaroo-bound wordsmith Chancellor Warhol not long ago — along with Rumours East's courtyard concerts and Dyer Observatory's Bluebird on the Mountain series, which presents the legendary cafe's signature songwriter rounds beneath a crowd of stars.
