Music That Will Make You Cream at Mercy Lounge

Tonight’s 8 off 8th is the final shebang in the month-long series curated by the Scene’s music blog Nashville Cream, and it features local acts covering ’90s treasures. The covers pull from the decade’s schizo straddling of hair metal, grunge and power-pop, with some touchstones of the college rock that surged quietly underground. Check out Tigers Con Queso, Carter Administration, The Mattoid, The Privates, Shoot the Mountain, And the Relatives, The Ocelots and Martians Go Home putting their spin on everything from Chapel Hill mainstays Superchunk to Guns N’ Roses, Blur and Smashing Pumpkins. Don’t forget your baby-doll dresses, flannel and light jeans. Oh, and as always, it’s free.
