Music City Star

Last year, the Fireworks Express was so explosively popular the train filled up in Lebanon and passed right by four stations, leaving confused would-be riders and crying children with a dud of an Independence Day. The RTA learned a lesson from said fiasco and has since retooled the special Fourth of July service. This year, the train will have seven cars, each with a set number of $10 round-trip tickets for sale. (Regular tickets will not be accepted.) Leaving Lebanon Station at 4 p.m., the train will stop in Martha, Mt. Juliet, Hermitage and Donelson with a 5 p.m arrival at Riverfront Station. The outbound train will depart 30 minutes after the fireworks end. Online ticket sales have ended, but they can still be purchased at Music City Central, 400 Charlotte Ave., while supplies last.
