Music City Improv at Writer's Stage

Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising
Out of the ashes of Improv Nashville Comedy Theater rises Music City Improv. Music City Improv is comprised of many of the performing members of the former company, which, since its final show on April 25, appears to be defunct for all practical purposes. The new group espouses a cooperative ethos and democratic administrative hierarchy, though veteran performers Barry McAlister and Cindy Carter are key point persons, along with Dylan Kinney, Jill Mothershed and Sheryl Bryant. In the early going, the troupe will be considering all potential performing spaces, but for the short term they've found a home at Jim Reyland's Writer's Stage venue. The improv itself will initially draw upon that which these players know best: games, comic scenes, musical bits and possible forays into long-form, all based on audience suggestions.
