For those who let a little lightning scare them away from the opening night's outdoor screening of Mamma Mia!, here's what you missed: more than 1,000 people singing along to "Dancing Queen," a dude down front busting some impromptu dance moves, kids nestled on blankets with parents, and snacks ranging from hot dogs and tacos to ice cream and kettle corn. The free series continues every Wednesday night through June, as it has now for 14 years; this year features even more activities and vendors, among them Ben & Jerry's, Mas Tacos Por Favor, ChaChah, Corner Pub, Moose Head Kettle Corn, The Dog of Nashville and Nashville Coffee & Co. Tonight's feature: we can't say, but it stars Keanu Reeves, Clarence Clemons as an emissary from the future, a member of The Go-Go's playing Joan of Arc, and the most excellent George Carlin.
Wednesdays, 7 p.m. Starts: June 10. Continues through June 24, 2009
