Starting with tonight’s screening of
The Help, the
Scene’s annual Movies in the Park series is starting its 17th year in a new location. After 16 years in Centennial Park, the free festivities move this year to Percy Warner Park. After
The Help — adapted from Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling phenomenon of the same name, in case you haven’t left the house in several years — there’s a little bit of something for everyone: Scottish-ish ogres for the kids and adults who listen closely (
Shrek); vampire vs. werewolf melodrama for Team Edward/Jacob/Bella, etc. (
Twilight: Breaking Dawn); and a superhero flick for anyone who saw
The Avengers, i.e., everyone (
Captain America). Showtime is each week at sundown, but come early for food and refreshments from local treasures like The Grilled Cheeserie gourmet food truck and Stonehouse Q along with Moe’s Southwestern Grill and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.
