Genevieve Bujold isn't a doctor, but she plays one on IV in Michael Crichton's entertaining 1978 thriller about a Boston hospital whose mortality rate masks a Deep Dark Secret. Richard Widmark and Michael Douglas co-star, with tiny early roles for Tom Selleck and Ed Harris, but the main attraction of this screening (besides the fact that it's free) is an interview with cinematographer Victor J. Kemper, recorded specially for the evening by Nashville Public Library staffers Bill Chamberlain and Clinton Tatum. You can hear Kemper dish about Paul Newman, John Cassavetes and others in the full interview, available as a podcast at feeds2.feedburner.com/popmatic.
