Say, here’s a no-brainer: Where’s an acoustic music fan with a taste for bluegrass and a desire to ring in the New Year to go? Why, the convivial confines of The Station Inn, of course, where bass man Mike Bub — as affable as any NYE host could hope to be — presides over a scrumptious onetime lineup that’s sure to pin back the ears of an audience hungry for some hard-core ’grass. Sharp-eyed mandolin fans will also note that it appears to be a chance to get a snootful of Tyminski’s underappreciated stylings, and that alone is worth the price of admission. To plot out all of the connections between these folks would take the better part of the day, but suffice it to say that they not only know the bluegrass songbook as well as anyone, but they know each others’ playing and singing, too. So while it’s a onetime lineup, it’s also one that’s got a lifetime of shared music behind it. Admission is $25, including a champagne toast.
