COULDN'T AGREE MORE! LONG LIVE GEORGE AND ATMP!!!
George was ahead of his time. Instead of doing an initial release, and then later issuing an "extended", "special", etc version, as is the money-grubbing way of the music industry today, he included the extra disc with the original release with its jams and "outtakes".
Totally agree with your assessment of it being the bext post-Beatles album, and is in my top 10 albums of all time by anyone.
Hope you're happy as one song from The Elder was performed. Kinda bummed they didn't play anything from Unmasked. I was hoping for Shandi or She's So European. What are ya gonna do? Killer set Saturday night none the less.
Here's an interview i did with DJ Orig about How Mashville Began 4 years ago.

Tyler Bryant is AMAZING and should win this show. If you haven't seen him yet, wait to be blown away tomorrow night.
bVm is posh! the other bands were all excellent!
Your highly complimentary tone was much appreciated! It has been my experience that, all too often, journalists tend to be dismissive of Greg's deeply moving lyric's, and his wonderfully (slightly) out of tune voice.

I can't wait to see this! This is the type of event I could only have dreamed of a couple years back. The Nashville hip hop scene is really growing and I appreciate publications such as yourself for helping our scene expand in a major way!
I enjoyed the more intimate crowd. And these guys were very good in my opinion. I can't wait to see them again.
We had such a great time last night. Congrats to Lauren and her crew for throwing/hosing such a great event!
Soo excited to attend this long awaited CD release!!!

Nicole Atkins is awesome live. Can't wait to catch her tonight at Mercy Lounge and hear her play some of the new music. Check out her video for "Vultures" off her new album 'Mondo Amore' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTAZHTKY6qU

The guys who covered the Sex Pistols' Never Mind the Bollocks were phenomenal! Great vocals (just enough in character to be entertaining, but not quite creepy,) excellent Steve Jones-ish guitar... solid rhythm section. That was a blast to see and hear-- great job.
brian van meter was awesome awesome awesome!
Stephen Sebastian just got added to the lineup.
This bullshit biased review is exactly why I pulled my all of my paid advertising from the Nashville Scene. I can't believe that a local "music rag" in "music city" allowed this to be printed.
This show is gonna be off the wall like a cheap plasma. I'm telling you if you have NEVER seen Blackberry Smoke you don't know what your missin. I have been couped up cleaning for a week and a half and im twistn a couple up and GOING TO SMOKE with the best. BLACKBERRY SMOKE kicks azz!
Needless to say, ames McMurtry is James McMurtry!
