Prep school's theater troupe heads to Scotland next summer

There's excitement at Montgomery Bell Academy, where it was recently announced that the Nashville prep school's theater program has been selected to present its adaptation of William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2005 as part of the American High School Theatre Festival. MBA's young thespians will perform in Scotland under the supervision of the school's theater director, Cal Fuller, who also wrote the stage version of Faulkner's time-honored tale of a Mississippi family coming together to bury their matriarch. In the meantime, the MBA program will mount a production this weekend (Dec. 2-5) of Federico García Lorca's revenge tragedy Blood Wedding, under the direction of faculty member Malcolm Morrison. For tickets or further information, phone 369-5309 or e-mail fullerc@montgomerybell.com.
