When I Paint My Masterpiece

Including 60 selected pieces from the collection of the Museo de Arte de Ponce in Puerto Rico, this new exhibit at the Frist Center offers an encyclopedic survey of paintings that includes some of the finest Old and Modern Master works from a treasure trove of art that was originally selected by the former governor of Puerto Rico, Luis A. Ferre. Plotting the course of art and philosophy from medieval times to the dawn of the industrial revolution, the work in the show ranges from the gilded idealism of the Middle Ages to the realism of the 1800s. The exhibit includes work by Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and many more.
