Broad Is Good

Broad Is Good
Nashville songwriter Marcus Hummon has played a critical role in the decade-long history of Actors Bridge Ensemble, having contributed ambitious musicals to many of the company's seasons. Hummon's works have explored a challenging mix of American, social and artistic themes, while also helping to grow Music City's essential contribution to the musical theater form. From these many shows--Spoon River Anthology, American Duet, Francis of Guernica, Warrior, Atlanta and others--have sprung even many more wonderful individual pieces of music, which form the basis for this revue featuring the talents of gifted performers such as Mike Eldred, Michelle Prentice, Pru Clearwater, Bobby Daniels, Kenetha Rogers and Maggie McDowell. ABE co-founders Bill Feehely and Vali Forrister will also be on hand to reflect with the composer on the collaborative process.
Fri., Dec. 5, 7 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 6, 7 p.m., 2008
