Awwww. Thanks, Tandy Having just finished reading this week’s Scene, it occurs to me that I enjoy Liz Garrigan’s editorials each week about as much as I enjoy anything. Please keep her around and in consistent, caustic humor. Thank you. Tandy C. Rice Jr.

Natural selection As a frequent contributor to Wikipedia, I am distressed at how one abysmal entry now defines the project (Desperately Seeking the News, Dec. 15). Before dismissing the project, please take a look at a report from Nature, the most prestigious scientific journal, reviewing 42 pairs of science articles from Wikipedia and Britannica. The expert investigation concluded the quality of Wikipedia rivals Britannica (www.nature.com/news/2005/051212/full/438900a.html). Kai Xue

Thoughts from a personal pronoun capitalizer The death penalty is not a trivial matter. For the almighty judge (God) to be just and righteous, He must exact a satisfaction or penalty for the transgression of His moral law (Love/Hate Mail, Dec. 15). Jesus Christ endured the death penalty, as an innocent substitute, so that He might escape God’s divine wrath and justice because of our sins and transgressions. Yes, there should be a death penalty in this life for those who commit premeditated murder (Romans 13:04). And there is an eternal death penalty for those who have spurned the love and forgiveness found only in the atonement of Christ (John 3:16). Rev. Tough love Noel Murray’s a good writer, but that nutty flavor he got from The Ice Harvest lingered on his palate, not his “palette” (“Unholy Night,” Dec. 1). I’ve got my eye on you, Noel. Shape up. Bill Fisher
