Middle Tennessee’s intense physical beauty, lush agriculture, and temperate climate made it an ideal stopping point for Farmies as they trekked across the country in search of a site for their commune. Other communal groups established living spaces in the outlying areas and adopted some of the traditional ways of local Mennonites. Many of these choose to name their offspring after biblical figures. We have compiled some names that, for whatever reason, are not often used:
