Like it Was the Last Day at Ammun Ra Theatre Playhouse

Amun Ra Theatre artistic director Jeff Obafemi Carr first workshopped his original drama in 2001, and it now receives its formal premiere. In 1967 Alabama, a death in the family brings blues singer Nudon Rison home for the first time in over a decade. There's old business that awaits him, especially involving his brother Workman and a sister, Nita, who grew up without knowing him. Carr's cast features a host of familiar local actors, including Bobby Daniels, Kenneth Dozier, Darlene Knight, David Chattam, Joel Diggs and Alicia Ridley. The play contains some strong language, so parental discretion is advised.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: March 19. Continues through April 12, 2009
