Just two Christmases ago, Tennessee Repertory Theatre mounted the first local production of this show, an adaptation by Joe Landry of Frank Capras cinema classic staged as a live radio drama complete with sound effects and music. Its an affectionate piece, ably conveying the bittersweet messages found in George Baileys personal and business travails while celebrating the colorful ambience and clever production tricks of an old-time radio studio. Lamplighters Theatres new version is under the direction of Margaret Meek and features a cast of five, with Michael Frazier providing piano accompaniment.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 4. Continues through Dec. 13, 2009
