Sure, there might be a national headliner tonight — Kraddy, founding member of Glitch Mob and a hell of a performer in his own right — but as usual we're more excited about the locals. And why not? Headliners come and go — obviously, that's kinda their gig — but the locals keep on blowing our minds. Case in point: Sam Shacklock, the production half of local hip-hop duo Sam & Tre, who is playing one of his very first solo sets tonight. While we've only heard bits and pieces of his new work — a drop here, a break there, all of it requiring the critical class to make up new adjectives to describe it — we're confident that dude is on whatever level is right after the next level. The next-next level? Yeah, that sounds about right.
