Two of the most promising exports from Nashville’s burgeoning crop of indie-pop writers, Keegan DeWitt and Madi Diaz are teaming up for a tour out west this August and early September, beginning with an in-store at the fine local denim house Imogene + Willie. Transplants from Portland, Ore., and Boston respectively, the two have been big fans of each other since Diaz and co-writer Kyle Ryan moved south in 2010. (Their harmonies on DeWitt’s “Michel Bizot,” in particular, are stunning.) The tour hits amid a busy year for both artists, DeWitt having spent much of it on the road already in support of Nothing Shows and the Two Hearts 7-inch, in addition to releasing a few new film scores and tying the knot. (I’m not yet convinced there aren’t two Keegans — how does he do it all?) For her part, Diaz has been working in Virginia on a new as-yet untitled full-length with John Alagia (John Mayer, Liz Phair), pieces of which will be available on the Far From the Things We Know EP, available Sept. 20 via tinyOGRE. Jessie Baylin opens.
