In the tradition of M Street’s Gulch dining establishments, Kayne Prime, which takes its name from the adjacent Kayne Avenue railyards, is predictably spectacular. If it were a Cirque de Soleil production, it would be Taureau to Virago’s Poisson and Tavern’s, well, Taverne. At this pricey contemporary steakhouse, the carnivorous canon is represented at its finest, with U.S.D.A. Prime, Wagyu and local beef available, and classic steakhouse sides receive a modern-day spin. Vegetarians take heart: the Green Plate Special offers seasonal creativity and flair.
