Jucifer at The End

Loud and Proud

Loud and Proud
For noise-rock and/or metal aficionados out there, chances are you've had plenty of opportunities to catch Jucifer since their formation in 1993 and subsequent embarkation as perma-touring nomads. For those who might be oblivious, the guitar-and-drums/husband-and-wife duo's recorded output offers little insight into their live set. On album, Jucifer run the gamut of classic Black Sabbath riffage, short blasts of hardcore and even delicate balladry—but in the club setting, the combo trades nuance for density. The amplifiers number in the dozens and the drums are gargantuan. The sheer volume is impossible to exaggerate, playing a greater role and leaving a larger impression than anything the players on stage could do.
