John Pinette at Zanies

Curb Your Enthusiasm’s recent Seinfeld pseudo-reunion naturally arouses recollection of how things ultimately unspooled on the original series finale: the private jet; the courtroom parade of guest stars; and ultimately, the jail time. But it was one man’s singular, car-jacked misfortune that started the wheels of justice turning for the catchphrase-slinging foursome. As a Seinfeld: The Complete Series bonus “Notes About Nothing” trivia track reports, “The very funny comedian John Pinette is featured here as Howie, the mugging victim. Pinette played Coach Kohler in multiple episodes of Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. Other TV appearances include roles in ALF, Vinnie and Bobby and Life’s Work. He’s also appeared in such films as The Punisher, Junior and My 5 Wives.” Even if half those credits remain unfamiliar, live, his flair for theatricality, endearing persona and proclivity for all things comestible prove that on the stand-up stage, Pinette is Master of His Domain.
